MEINL Percussion HEAD-49 18inch SU18 Surdo Drum Head On the Go Made from Siam Oak andThis 18" Surdo Drum Head can be used in place of the Napa Heads, although they are quite similar in construction with a soft surface bound together by a metal hoop. The thicker surface layer helps dampen and soften attack while eliminating any sound frequencies, much like a Napa head. The main difference here is that the Surdo Head can bring a very different sound, lending a kind of surging or swelling feeling to the groove.
