Chelsea Wolfe – Hiss Spun 2LP Colour:Black Mastered in its own brand

Mastered in its own brand of necro speed metal

The opening section of “Consciousness” is a sequence of ninth chords expanding microtonally from darkest/most compact to brightest/broadest

which clocked in at nearly 100 minutes across two CDs or three 12" vinyl records

and the songs on ‘In The Jaws of Bereavement’ are adeptly tailored to the environs of a dank club sweltering from the energy created through this music and a crowd living for nothing but the moment and the swell of bodies on bodies

Chelsea Wolfe – Hiss Spun 2LP Colour:Black Mastered in its own brandHiss Spun marks one of Wolfes heaviest recordings to date, merging sludge metal guitars, industrial textures and her unmistakable voice. Produced by Kurt Ballou, it has been praised for creating a dense and florid landscape for listeners to inhabit. Themes of trauma and catharsis underpin its crushing sound world, making it a defining work for those drawn to the darker intersections of metal and gothic ambiance.
